Health Care

Landye Bennett Blumstein represents health care providers, tribal health care organizations, clinics and providers across Alaska. As general counsel to institutional clients, we advise on the structuring and implementation of health care programs, adoption of cooperative agreements and MOUs, the management of electronic health care records (EHR) and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

We help clients navigate court proceedings and respond to subpoenas for health care information. Our in-depth knowledge of employment law allows us to efficiently advise on recruiting and contracting for regular and locum tenens providers, negotiation of employment contracts and dispute resolution.

We work with private group practices in hiring providers and hospital negotiations. Seasoned LBB partners structure agreements for professional groups seeking to address their financial commitments, practice administration, succession planning and buyouts. We assist in the sale and acquisition of healthcare businesses as well as asset purchase agreements.

LBB supports the risk management needs of health care organizations facing potential claims. We have defended providers facing insured claims, and have secured Federal Tort Claims Act representation under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act for tribal organizations and tribal officials.
